10 things in a Soldiers Pocket

Here is my writing for this week! I wrote a poem which is about 10 things in  a soldiers pocket! Here it is!
10 things in a soldier's pocket
A reminder of home that brings tears to my eyes
A screwed up bandage that has blood over it
A dusty and old bomb that they never used
Strong medicine that will help him and his teammates
A cross hanging from a string
A scrunched up box of cards
A Dark Brown box that has a light green necklace in it
A napkin that has blood coming down from it
An old rusty compass
An screwed up chewed taboca

  1. Kia ora Tulei,

This is a fantastically powerful short piece of writing. You've really jumped into the mind of a soldier overseas and can identify how hard it must have been to be so far away. What made you write the poem? Did you look at any other poems to inspire you?

Thanks for sharing your learning. Blog you later...
