Teach the teacher is a program when children find something their really interested in and  you have to teach the teacher.  My buddy was Heamapo. We  taught Room 13 a game called statue. I think we went well because everybody was listening and everybody was playing fairly. What me and Heamapo might have to improve on is add some picture or videos  on our  doc so the rest of them that don't know how to play can watch the video before playing it. Science Outside

Today afternoon some of us went outside to do an experiment on Science.  First we had to get into groups of three because their were 18 of us. My group was Vika, Heamapo and me. First we had to get a container from Miss Percy. Then we had to pour some liquid  into the container.

Then Janet came and gave us one food colouring. We got green. We tipped the green dye into the container gently. After that Heamapo stirred it until the four was  at the bottom. It was really hard to stir.

After that we put our hands inside and put some of the corn flour and the dye into your hands. After a little while is started melting  and it was solid. We played with it and it started getting sticky. After a little while Miss Percy said to go and wash your hands and go inside.

How to be sunsmart

In summer it is really dangerous and really hot. It is really important that you know how to be sun smart. To be sun smart you need to wear a hat, wear sunglasses and wear sunscreen.

One of the best things that you can do to be sun smart is to wear a hat. A bucket hat would be smart and it would be the best option because it protects your face from the sun. The next reason why a bucket hat is a good option is because if you have a cap and you are looking at the sun your face might turn tan.

Another best thing that can protect you from the sun is sunglasses. If you are inside your house and you are looking outside at the sun and you are wearing white glasses you can still

The Water Cycle

The water cycle goes round and round. It has no end or beginning it just goes around and around. It has water in it.

One of the most important parts of the water cycle is evaporation. When the water and heat combine it makes steam. Then it rises into  the sky.

Another important part of the water cycle is condensation. After it rises into the sky it makes little pieces of clouds. It’s heavy because little droplets cool down.

The last important part of the water cycle is precipitation. Precipitation is rain, hail, snow, ice and sleet. All that stuff comes from the sky. It comes from the clouds.

When the water lands on the earth’s surface, it goes to things like toilets, baths and sinks. It even goes to swimming pools, oceans and seas.

The water cycle goes all around that’s why it’s called the water cycle. The 3 most important parts of the water cycle is evaporation, precipitation and finally condensation. Without these things there wouldn't be a water cycle.

Puddels

This afternoon in Science, we were in a group of three. My team was Rosie, Razelle and me.Then they put some water in the cup. We went outside and poured some water on the ground but before we done that we had to make sure we are on a flat surface  because if we were not on a flat surface the water is just going to go down and make a river and someone my trip. Here is the picture!

Then after a little while we went to get a chalk from Miss Percy and drawled around it. Then we had to write the time down and our group names. So then we came back into class. At 12.00, my other team-mate Razelle went outside and took a look what happened between 11.55 and 12.00. They came back in they. So after a couple of minutes we all went outside and it looked like this.

We noticed it evaporated and the combination of water and heat . Then it turns into stem and goes to the sky and makes clouds. After the sky makes  clouds with that water. and the heat. It ended up looking like this picture.

MAORI NEW YEAR!!!

New Year on the day the new moon rises, and others celebrate on the day after the new moon. Celebrations can last up to 3 days.
The things that we can celebrate for Matariki is by doing Matariki is seven stars and it is a cluster of stars. It is important to the Maori people because it is the New year which means it is a new beginning for the Maori people. Matariki is based on myths and it tells you about what happened before the seven sisters became stars. Matariki is all about the Maori New Year.

Matariki is in the middle of June which is in
winter. Matariki begins to rise in the last few days of May. Some iwi (tribes) start celebrations when Matariki is first seen, however it is the first new moon after Matariki that officially signals the Maori New Year. Some people celebrate the
  • weaving
  • making cards for your parents
  • go to the beach and have some kumara
  • have a swim
  • cook dinner
  • spend time with your family
  • read a matariki book
  • sing songs
At May Road we celebrated Matariki by going to the front of the gate and putting some rocks inside our Matariki garden. Also we went to the hall for Matariki assembly and everyone had to perform what they been learning about Matariki. So Room 13 did a stick song which was called E papa waiari

War

Dear Mum and Dad

The first thing we had to do is  pack our bags . It was hard saying’’ goodbye to you guys  because I might not see you again and you will not be able to say goodbye to me.
War is horrible and shocking. Me and the brave soldiers arrived in the afternoon when the sun was shining on me and the soldiers. As we walked in we saw  a table that will cover us all from the other team. Then my leader said’’ to get prepared to fight against the other team and we will meet under the table. When I was started  to get prepared I heard the other team coming. Then I yelled out to my leader and said’’ they here. After that my leader yelled’’ out and said hurry up!!!!!!!!!!! Then we started the war. I felt sad  and shocked that some of my friends died through the war. Then some of us said goodbye to our friends that died in the war. After that my leader said’’ hurry up and start shooting. I smelled smoke in the air.I was thinking we all should spread out into groups of five.
Then we had a break and we had to eat the food that they gave us. After that we had to began part two.It was even hader on part two because my leader and some of the soldiers died. Then my other friend said what are we going to do Without our leader.I said’’ just keep on going we can do it without
our leader. After their was only 14 people on from each country. So.So me and my friends were felt weak and disappointed. After that me and my brave friends saw people fighting against people in our team. Then we helped our team. After it was time to go sleep. Then my friends went to sleep.
The End
